It looks like a sheet that goes over your windshield, so when the snow is on it you can just pull it off and eh on your way. On a related note, another neighbor of mine has a 2014 Avalon Hybrid loaded, they essentially have the same car. :)

I thought the Avalon was more closely related to the GS, and the ES is the Camry's Lexus-badged twin.

An old blanket works equally well. Also, this is not so much against snow as it is against ice.

No, the GS is RWD while the Avalon is FWD. The ES used to be based on the Camry, but love up to being based on the Avalon.

I've thrown furniture blankets on my cars to protect them from hail.

My mother-in-law sent of two of them for Xmas.

Mrs McMike was excited about using it because it would save her time in the morning. Every time she has remembered to put it on the car, there has been no snow/ice. The two times we have seen snow/ice, she forgot to put it on.

That's why we sent one back. The time saved the one morning is wasted ten fold by all the times you put it on/off every night/morning.

I don't have time for that. I'll scrape.

Someday, she'll get it right.

Gotta be really careful about keeping them dry. If they get wet or water gets under the blanket the blanket itself will freeze to the windshield and you're in worse shape than not having one.

I've got some neighbors who use them daily. It prevents just normal frosted over windows pretty well but in snow it's like a 50-50 chance it gets frozen on. In freezing rain/sleet, forget about it.

My grandpa uses a very big garbage bag for this. It looks ridiculous, but the frost sticks to the bag instead of the windshield. He lives on the West Coast where they rarely get frost. I live in Saskatchewan where I have a heated garage ;)
